Valentine’s Gifts for Him

As we all know, there are no limits to choose what to give or not to give on Valentine’s Day.  Valentine’s Days does not have to be limited to the little things.  You could even use this holiday to get him what you didn’t give  him for Christmas.

Honestly the key to buying anyone a gift is to listen to clues about what they want.  This could be a variety of things like  a book, a shirt, a cd, a magazine, a tool, etc.  If you have to get the chocolates or something sweet, get fancy with it and get a good chocolate like Godiva or Ghirardelli.  Some couples just like to spend time with each other.  So check out the special events that are going on your city and set up your date.

You could also spruce up the bedroom with nice sheets, rose petals and candles along with your box of chocolates.

Going out on Valentines?

The first Valentine’s Day that me and my hubby shared together was in 2006.  We had just started dating and he planned a nice a evening that included Valentine’s at The High Museum of Art.  It was a great date, but it was very crowded and the line was super long.  In 2007,  we went out for Chinese early in the evening trying our best to avoid the crowds.  In 2008, we ordered in so that we could avoid the crowds.  In 2009, we thought that we would avoid crowds by going to breakfast and the place was packed.

So this year my hubby wanted to narrow down ideas that he had for Valentine’s.  He gave me a couple of choices – fancy or casual?  I immediately went for casual.  Why? To avoid the crowds.  We sat and reminisced on all the Valentine’s Days that we spent together and realized that we don’t like going out on Valentine’s.

On this Valentine’s Day I am sure that our plans will include doing something very low-key.  As far gifts, we always get each other a little something. So I definitely look forward to that but I also look forward to sleeping in and spending the day with my hubby.

What experiences have you had with going out on Valentine’s Day?

Have a Peach of a Weekend

Valentines Day

What are you doing this weekend?  I plan to have date night with my husband.  Maybe dinner and a movie????   Either/or …I don’t know.  A lot of people have been telling us to go and see The Book of Eli so we may give that a go. Have any of you seen it?

Speaking of movies, Valentine’s Day releases on 2/12/10 and it has an all-star cast – Jessica Alba, Jamie Foxx, Julia Roberts, Patrick Dempsey…just to name a few.  Although I may not go to the movies to see it, I’d like to see it on dvd.

Since Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, you should start hinting to your husbands about what you want. I’ve rounded up a few links that may give you some ideas.
