Music Review – Marica Chisolm

I have five words for this album, “Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes” (in my Marica voice). Simply Worship by Marica Chisolm is an awesome album.  It’s definitely worshipful, it’s churchy, it’s anointed.  This is a project with songs that just merely adore and reverence God.

The album begins with a couple of upbeat songs and then it slows down with tracks such as “Used”, “Breath of Glory” and “Desperation”.  I could honestly replay these three tracks over and over again in my moments of worship.  Those songs are so powerful and they talk about surrendering to God and desiring more of him.

I could easily see a lot of the songs on this project being used by praise teams all across the country. Marica is a true worshipper and it definitely shows throughout this project. I thoroughly enjoy it and I know that you will too.  Simply Worship can be purchased now at iTunes, amazon and cdbaby.

Music Review – William Murphy’s God Chaser Album

God Chaser

William Murphy released God Chaser a few weeks ago and I can’t stop listening to it.  This album has so many good moments… moments of worship, praise, encouragement and boldness. The project begins with the title track “God Chaser”, that talks about running after God and being desperate for him.  “You Reign” will easily become a church favorite with simple yet powerful lyrics. Murphy moves into a Israel Houghton styled song,  ”In Your Hands” and it has just the right groove to get you moving. 

After the big opening of praise and worship we become encouraged and start making statements of faith.  With tracks like “It’s Working” and “Already Getting Better”, you will feel empowered while declaring the words in these songs.

The latter portion of the project is where we hear “Write a Song” co-written by Murphy’s son and “Make Me Righteous” featuring the amazing Tasha Cobbs.  The cd ends with a worshipful cover of “You Are My Strength”  made popular by Hillsong. 

The bottom line is go and get the cd, download it on iTunes or Amazon.  It’s simply great music that you will enjoy at home, at church and in your car. I highly recommend the album God Chaser by William Murphy.

In the City – Date Idea

Atlanta readers, check out the Midtown Promenade located at 931 Monroe Dr, Atlanta.

My go to spots are Mellow Mushroom (The Shroom) and Richard’s Variety Store. For a low key date, grab a pizza at The Shroom and then go window shopping at Richard’s. Richard’s is such a fun place to go. I feel like everytime I go to the store, I see so many new things.

There are other places in the Midtown Promenade that I may cover at a later date, but if you are into pizza and shopping, this may be the date idea for you.

Now that you have been inspired, it’s time to figure out how much money you have to bring your vision to life.

How much money do you want to spend?

 Who is contributing? Will it be your family?Is just you and your fiance?

A lot of times we go into planning a wedding and our ideas cost a lot more than we expected.  Then you think about all of the people that you want to  invite and the things that you may not be able to have and you’re suddenly disappointed.  What’s a girl to do?

Find out what the dollar amount  will be for your budget and stick to it.  Don’t go in debt over a wedding. The main expense will be food and beverage. You may be able to cut back on those things to allow for money in other areas.  I like to pick my must haves, then spend less money in other areas.

Let’s crunch those numbers, ladies!!!!  You can do it!
