For some reason, my post about the baby shower prayer is very popular. I asked my mother to write a baby shower prayer as I have so many friends that are having babies. Prayers are very special to all receive them. I think that a very unique gift would be to take a prayer print it out and frame to use in the baby’s nursery. That way, every time the parent enters that child’s room, they will have this prayer.
=================================================================
Father,
I lift up this new life to you today. First, O God, I thank you for placing this baby in (insert parent’s name) care. I realize that parenting is an awesome responsibility, God. Therefore we are depending on you to help (insert parent’s name) to be that parent you’ve called them to be.
Teach them to love unconditionally, to encourage, to support and to discipline. Help them to teach this child your word as you have instructed us to do. Thank you, O God, that they will commit to do things in the name of Jesus. Thank you for the precious blood of Jesus that will provide this child protection from the enemy. I thank you for the angels that will watch over this child all day and night to keep them from all hurt, harm and danger.
I pray that this child keep their eyes focused on you. They don’t look to the left or to the right. In all their ways, they will acknowledge You, O God, and you will direct their path. I pray that this child is holy and righteous before you. That they make good choices and not bad choices. They do those things which are pleasing in your sight. This child will resist the devil and the devil flees from them. I pray that think on those things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely and good. I pray that no currupt communication comes from their mouths, but things which are good that will edify the hearer.
I pray that my children are full of wisdom, knowledge and understanding – that they strive
for excellence in all that they do. Great is the peace of this child for they are taught of you, Father. This child is healthy, wealthy, successful, anointed, whole and will walk in your favor
in the name of Jesus.
I thank you, Father, that this child is obedient to their parents and most of all obedient to you. I pray this child will love you with all their heart, soul and strength. This child will never stray away from you. I pray that they desire you more than anything. Father, I thank you that they will always remember that they can do all things through Christ who strengthens them. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow this child all the days of their life.
In Jesus Name, AMEN
