51st Grammy Award Nominees

The grammy award nominations are  now published at www.grammy.com.  I’m a big gospel fan and I must say that I am a little disappointed that Marvin Sapp did not get nominated. His song  “Never Would Have Made It” hit all kinds of records…so I thought.  I am not sure how the process works, but it would seem as though his name would have been on the list for something.  However, there are a few nominations that I would like to mention such as “Get Up” by Mary Mary for Best Gospel Performance and Best Gospel Song. Their new release, The Sound, was nominated for Best Contemporary R&B Album along with Jason Champion, Tye Tribbett, Kirk Franklin and The Murrills.  Also Deitrick Haddon’s CD, Together In Worship, was nominated for Best Traditional Gospel Album.

I just discovered Etsy

Etsy is an ecommerce site where you can buy and sell handmade items.  This is great place to shop for gifts for the holiday or any occasion. I’m a newlywed and I love to get things personalized with my new last name so one of my favorite stores in Etsy is JavaJaneDesigns.  Their specialty is alphabet artwork where they take pics of nature and architecture and frame it for you.  It’s really unique.  My other favorite Etsy shop is SayItWithStyle and their specialty is vinyl lettering on metal signs.  During this holiday season this shop is offering free shipping on vinyl only orders.

Coupons for Hair Products

Check your local newspaper for savings on hair products such as Tresemme, Suave and Herbal Essence.  You can save at least $1.  Also use the couponmom.com database to find where your favorite products are on sale.

Travel Tips

Hopefully most of you have already made your holiday travel plans, but I have a few tips that I learned from the guests on the  Mike & Juliet Show.  Book on Wednesdays, be sure to fly on Mondays, Tuesdays or holidays and take the first or last flight of the day (unless it’s on Friday or Sunday).  Websites referenced are as follows: www.farecompare.com, www.insidetrip.com www.yapta.com .
