101 Things

Start Date: Monday, February 1, 2010

 The Mission: Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria: Tasks must be specific with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic.

Why 1001 Days?  I have several seasons to complete the tasks. This will be  better for organizing and timing some tasks.

  1. Clean out my closets and donate unwanted items
  2. Get the carpet cleaned
  3. Have old bills shredded  – 2/06/10
  4. Organize my cookbook
  5. Buy new linen for the guest bedroom
  6. Buy new pillows and pillow protectors
  7. Buy a sofa for sitting room
  8. Organize and clean out the garage
  9. Hang artwork/pictures in the house
  10. Join a recycling program
  11. Go to 6 professional sports events (0/6)
  12. Attend 6 performances/concerts (0/6)
  13. Try a new restaurant every 3 months
  14. Read 6 books – fiction and/or non-fiction (0/6)
  15. Do some type of Christmas activity (see lights, see the fake snow, etc.)
  16. Go to Snow Mountain
  17. Plan a fabulous 30th bday for my hubby
  18. Go to the Hot Air Balloon Festival
  19. Go to the Sundial restaurant
  20. Take a pic each week (2/132)
  21. Get passports
  22. Have 3 low-tech weekends (0/3)
  23. Plan a couples massage
  24. Surprise hubby with Just Because gifts at least once a quarter (1/8)
  25. Have a lazy movie Saturday
  26. Go out to breakfast/brunch on a Saturday or day off (0/6)
  27. Eat dinner with the TV off for a week
  28. Go to bed at 9pm for one week
  29. Plan a vow renewal
  30. Make an extra mortgage payment
  31. Pay off credit cards
  32. Pay more money on student loan payments
  33. Pay off my car
  34. Build up an emergency fund for 3 months
  35. Take a lesson/course about investing
  36. Move into a new home
  37. Purchase a sedan or SUV
  38. Go on a one month spending fast for one month, spend no money except for necessities (gas, food, bills, insurance, mortgage)
  39. Make or buy all presents throughout the year to spread the cost of Christmas.
  40. Save at least $20 extra a month for one year
  41. Call or e-mail 3 close friends a month for a year (0/36)
  42. Send a “just because,” card/note/postcard once a month for a year (0/12)
  43. Send a “Just Because” care package to a friend
  44. Call my grandmothers once a month (0/33)
  45. Reach out to my in-laws (myself) once every other month (0/16)
  46. Attend a non-mandatory lecture or seminar at work
  47. Find a new job
  48. Get a makeup lesson/makeover
  49. Manicures/Pedicures at least twice a year (0/6)
  50. Purchase an all-weather coat/trench coat
  51. Have a spa day
  52. Build a nice wardrobe (clothes, shoes and handbags)
  53. Buy a nice pair of red heels
  54. Get boots repaired or replaced
  55. Get a bra fitting once a year (0/3)
  56. Buy a pair of quality name brand comfy shoes
  57. Read the Bible in Chronological order
  58. Pray and meditate for 20 minutes a day, every day.

  61. Take anniversary trips in states surrounding Georgia (Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina) – We went to Alabama for our 1st Anniversary. (0/4)
  62. Go to Las Vegas
  63. Take a cruise
  64. Visit husband’s family in New York
  65. Take a weekend trip to Reynolds Plantation, Barnsley Gardens or some luxury hotel in GA
  66. Make a vegan dessert
  67. Try a new recipe once a month (1/33)
  68. Have a fondue dinner
  69. Follow an elliptical training program for one month (0/16)
  70. Complete a walking program
  71. Complete a 5K training plan
  72. Run a 5K
  73. Lose 50 lbs
  74. No candy for a month (sugar-free gum okay)
  75. Drink two – four glasses of water before I have a soda for a month
  76. Comment on two new blogs per week for 2 months (8/16)
  77. Do 3 video posts on my music blog (0/3)
  78. Do a monthly update of 101 things on blog (1/33)
  79. Revamp my website (change graphics, update the template, purchase a blog header, etc)
  80. Update my music blog at least twice a month with meaningful content for one year.
  81. Complete all 31 tasks in the ProBlogger 31 Days to Build a Better Blog Challenge
  82. Generate online income
  83. Have my car fully detailed
  84. Wash the car or have it washed at least every other month (1/16)
  85. Buy or ensure that I have the following: First Aid kit, jumper cables, flares, cell phone charger for car, flashlight
  86. Learn to play at least once song on the keyboard and have it recorded.
  87. Organize the songs that I have written
  88. Record an EP and/or Demo
  89. Make a press kit
  90. Self-promote my music (make contact with other churches, send out postcards to friends and family)
  91. Have Praise & Worship Night at least 4 times (0/4)
  92. Buy equipment for home recording
  93. Write a fan letter
  94. Get rid of secular music
  95. Buy a video camera
  96. Delete my Myspace profile
  97. Send flowers for no reason at all
  98. Take a class to learn something new (photography, calligraphy, etc.)
  99. Throw a Christmas party
  100. Do random acts of kindness at least once a month (1/33)
  101. Do at least six ladies only outings/events including trips (0/6)
